We sold our old computers for a total of $500 ($100 per computer-including monitor, keyboard, mouse, power plug, etc.) which would bring our total spending money to $6,500.
Total after Hardware and Software= $5776.14
Additional Items:
Desks for New Computers 2 double + 1 single -- $290+$88= $378 New Chairs 5= $121.50
Which would bring us to a grand total of: $6,475.62
Summary:
New computers would be a wonderful opportunity for the students to expand their learning. New tables and chairs would be essential for computer workstations. The computer workstations would be equipped with a printer and headphones for the students to utilize. The printer would come in use to print out various subject topics students would find while exploring the internet for projects or other assignments requiring open office.
New software is essential for the new computers that are being purchased. Open Office is a great replacement for Microsoft Word. It is a money saver for budgets because it is free and accessible by downloading on the internet. Since the students will be able to explore the internet an anti-virus program is very important. An anti-virus program will prevent any damage being done to the computers which may help cut cost in the long run. Two educational software programs will be used within the budget. World Explorer is a program that help students learn facts about the world and it's history. This will be a new and fascinating way of teaching the class. The second program is Oregon trail, which is a CD ,that presents the students with a journey of life on the Oregon Trail.
All the new equipment purchased with the $6,000 awarded would help expanded the student's learning in the classroom. Everything would be utilized and put to good use. The new computers and programs will get the student's excited and wanting to learn about history.
